Dutch Chapter Road Tour 2006 (Utrecht province)

Get together at Old London

Around half past 10 the first vettes arrived at Cafe Old-London in the township of Zeist. Within one hour all tour participants were present and a total group consisted out of 14 classic corvettes from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation.

After a nice cup of coffee and a short introduction of the tour we departed around 12 pm.

First stop

Our first stop was at castle Sterkenburg build in 1274. Like always the two red 1960 vettes of Jan and Sander are parked side-ways as a bunch of twins.

A line of Vettes

It stays a beautifull sight - a nice line of Vettes - and on this picture the difference between the generations can be seen perfectly.

The Sterkenburg

Nice shot (notice the twingle in the Corvette name)

Row-parking

The tour brought us to various nice castles in the province of Utrecht and at each castle it was always a small hustle to get all cars nicely parked. This often resulted in a nice corvette row.

Castle sightseeing (Beverweert)

At each castle we tried to stop to do some sightseeing. Piet and Twan tried to arrange to take some shots of the vettes in front of the building, but the owner were unfortunately not home.

Nice castle moat and park

Time for some drinks and a snack

Around half past two it was time for a short lunch brake. Due to the extremely nice wheather some of us were in the need of some cold refreshments. Next to the coke and coffee we enjoyed some nice soup, salades, french fries, typical Dutch Krokets and some Tosti's.

Nice picture line-up...

As convoy leader Andre saw the opportunity to shoot some nice pictures in front of the gates of Castle Sanderburg. Many of us shot some nice pics to their cars at this location and in addition we shot some pics of all vettes lined up.

Twan's 1965

He...oh no SHE looks very nice!

Nice present for our workshop

Han Clems donated a very nice, limited edition framed artwork of two 63 grand sports and mr. Zora himself. Thanks you very much, it will receive a prominent place in our new workshop!!!
